Dental
Dental implants are considered a safe and effective solution for replacing missing teeth, with a high success rate and long-term durability. However, not everyone may be a suitable candidate for dental implants, and a thorough evaluation by a qualified dental professional is necessary to determine if implants are the right option for an individual’s specific needs and oral health condition.
Initial assessment: A thorough dental examination and assessment of the patient’s oral health, including X-rays or other imaging to determine the bone density and structure of the jawbone.
Treatment planning: Based on the assessment, a treatment plan is developed, which may include the number and placement of dental implants, the type of restoration to be used (e.g., crown, bridge, or denture), and any additional procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lift if needed.
Implant placement: The dental implants are surgically placed into the jawbone, where they will integrate with the bone over time through a process called osseointegration. This provides a stable and durable foundation for the replacement teeth.
Healing and recovery: After implant placement, a period of healing and recovery is usually required to allow the implants to fully integrate with the jawbone. This can take several weeks to several months, depending on the individual and the complexity of the case.
Restoration: Once the implants have fully integrated, the custom-made dental crown, bridge, or denture is attached to the implants, completing the restoration of the missing teeth. The restoration is designed to match the patient’s natural teeth in shape, size, and color, resulting in a natural-looking and functional smile.
